There will be many beautiful moments you will want captured on your wedding day. One of my personal favorites is what I call "The First Look." This is a moment when you see each other for the first time as bride and groom. Though a bit untraditional, connecting with each other briefly before the ceremony allows me to document an intimate moment as you begin your celebration and your journey together. Doing this is a very personal choice, but a "first look" can be a priceless opportunity that you both will cherish forever. (It also gives you a quiet moment together before the whirlwind begins; the beautiful, wonderful whirlwind that will be your special day).
Please list all of the bride's bridal party starting with the Maid/Matron of Honor.
Please list all of the Groom's bridal party starting with the Best Man.
Please list any flower girls, ring bearers or ushers who will participate in the wedding and need to be in formal photos.
Family Portrait Options
You get the picture. These are just a handful of the many combinations that we can do on your wedding day. I would suggest really thinking about what types of combinations you want and focus your list so it doesn't get too long. Remember, you are all family now! Large family portrait take approximately 5-10 per set up and smaller groupings take 1-3 minutes.
Names and relationships of Bride's immediate family.
Names and relationships of Groom's immediate family.
Please allow approx 2 minutes per grouping. Are there any special family members like grandparents, cousins, aunts or uncles that should be included in family portraits? It is also suggested to take these immediately after the ceremony if they cannot make it early.
If there are any additional formal group photos that you would like, please list them here (college friends, work colleagues, etc). These photos are usually taken at the reception. Please specify when you would like to work these into your day. Remember we can take these anytime!
Are there any special locations where you would like your group photos and couple portraits to be taken? If possible, we can scout them the day before if I am able to attend the rehearsal.
It's helpful for me to know what kind of wedding attire everyone will be wearing so my second shooter and I can dress appropriately. I also love to have an idea of your wedding day colors so I can plan for shooting your invitation suite and details!
We love to photograph invitation suites and rings! Please make sure to have all of those available on your wedding day. Make sure all the rings are with the bride. We will make sure they end up in the correct hands before the ceremony. Bring any stamps, ribbons or special heirlooms that are appropriate if you want them included. It helps to round out your story and make it more personal! Let us know your colors so we can things of anything that can help as well!

First Look
If you decided to do a first look this is the time before portraits begin. It's good to have your first look scheduled about 15 minutes before other formal portraits are to begin.

Golden Hour/Sunset Portraits
Golden Hour/Sunset Portraits
Timing really is everything. To get those beautiful golden hour portraits we want to be shooting them one hour before the scheduled sunset time that day. It is preferable to have your ceremony early enough so we don't miss this golden opportunity. (Pun intended. I couldn't help myself!)
Everybody has to eat! I require that a HOT meal be provided for the photographer & second shooter. I will confirm with you well in advance how many of us will need to eat. If there are special toasts during dinner please note what time they will be given so I can work those around our meal. Please let me know how we are to get our meals on the wedding day. A well fed photographer is a happy photographer! I prefer to take a break and eat right after the wedding party has been served their meal – I want to have enough time to eat so I can rejuvenate and get back to the amazing photography job you hired me for in the first place!
Will you be doing any type of formal “Exit” from your reception? If so, what are you planning and what time will this take place? It's important to plan for this. If our contract ends at 11pm and the send off is at 11pm we are technically going over our scheduled end time. Schedule your big send off for 10:45 and it will work out perfectly!
