I am over the moon to be featured on one of my favorite wedding blogs today! It has been a dream of mine to have my work grace their blog! Please head on over and take a peek at the lovely wedding feature of Jenny + Jeremiah's sweet southern wedding at Rodes Farm. Many thanks to Amanda Gray of Ashley Baber Weddings for helping create such a lovely day!
Congratulations to Brittany + Luke! They had a stunning wedding this past Saturday at Veritas Vineyard & Winery in Afton, Virginia. The light was soft and perfect and they couldn't look happier! I am so happy to be kicking off my wedding season with these two!
I'm selfish, impatient, and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I'm out of control, and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.

Caitlin + Karl had such a sweet engagement session. I loved their warm energy. They really LOVE Richmond, Virginia and they took me to some great spots for their session. I adored 23rd & Main Kitchen and Taproom with it's rough wall and gorgeous light. I am looking forward to working with these two again!
Camila turned SIXTEEN while visiting her uncles this winter. We had such fun shooting her Quinceañera photo shoot before she headed back with her brother to Argentina! I only wish I could go to Argentina this summer to photograph her party! I'm sure it will be a blast! Happy Birthday Camila!
Many thanks to the venues below for allowing us to use their spaces that day!
This is one of my favorite engagement sessions from last year. You have already seen their spectacular wedding on these pages. (I'm a little backwards here. Trying to catch up and get a schedule!) Jenny and Jeremiah have an easy kind of love. It radiates from them like a warm spring day. Here's to dreaming of warmer weather! We started our day at Monticello where Jeremiah schooled us on heirloom plants from the gardens. Then we trekked up to Carter's Mountain for a quick trot with their adorable dog and managed to catch a spectacular sunset for the grand finale. This is the epitome of engagement shoots. It has it all. Natural beauty, gorgeous light, awesome outfits and LOVE. Glorious, wonderful LOVE!
We are all so thrilled to have this styled shoot featured on Borrowed and Blue today!
Imagine a love so strong that you’re SWEPT AWAY… that feeling brought together a host of talented vendors to Gaie Lea, a brand new event venue and manor home in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley. Graceful, southern details punctuate the storyline for this styled shoot, envisioning a gorgeous couple eloping to the Virginia’s countryside for an intimate celebration of their nuptials.
From moment of arrival to their glorious breakfast in bed, enjoy this last nod to winter’s pristine beauty and be warmed by the sweet love that inspired it.
Many thanks to all the amazing vendors involved!

It's not everyday a girl gets to be on a fashion shoot with a beautiful model from London! I've been wanting to photograph Becca for years and I finally got my chance! It was crazy day with wardrobe changes and hair and makeup by the very talented duo Fielding and Nahuel of Frivolous Factory. Many thanks to my assistant Meredith Sledge and Escafe for our final location!
I've said it before and I'll say it again, this won't be the last time you will see this beautiful woman on my journal. This is just a taste of what is to come from this session. I cannot wait to get the film back and see what we created. Sarah and I decided to have some fun yesterday. We went a little crazy outside in the trees and the wind. In the distance a storm was brewing, but somehow it held off. I think it knew that we needed this weather. We needed the light. WE NEEDED this session to happen NOW.
You see, Sarah is stunning. She is incredibly beautiful both inside and out. She is kind and loving. She is generous and silly. She is sexy and living life as fully as she can. But she is fighting for her life. She is at war with this ugly thing called cancer.
My goal is for you to see this post as not just a pretty picture, but a lesson. Not all cancer looks like this. She doesn't look sick. She doesn't look like she is in pain. But the awful truth is that Sarah has stage four cancer and it sucks. She is taking it day by day and what an incredible day we had! I hope she was able to forget her fight for a while and just feel beautiful. She certainly is to me and it is always an honor to photograph her. I know that in those few hours that we spent yesterday that I forgot. I was lost in the moment of laughing and being silly and spending a fantastic day with my friend.
Lastly, I urge you to please go and donate to the Ocular Melanoma Foundation today. You can visit Sarah's blog to find out more ways to help in this cause. Feel free to share this with your friends, your family and anyone who will listen. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Anna has been my assistant on many weddings and it was such a treat to be the photographer for her wedding day! With lovely touches of gold, blush and navy it was a classic and chic October wedding. I loved knowing that Anna knew exactly what I was doing and therefore it was an easy, relaxed day for us all! Some of my favorite portraits were earlier in the day with her sisters. Of course her gorgeous veil created some stunning moments with the newlyweds!

Jane + Brody tied the knot on a gorgeous fall day last October. They had a beautiful wedding full of vibrant color even with the changing leaves. I love that Jane picked a bold purple color for her girls dresses! Enjoy!
This spectacular fall wedding was perfect in every way. Every detail was thoughtfully executed. There were touches of silver spoons and herbs woven into their theme as the groom is a wonderful Chef so food is very, VERY important to them both. Even their dog made an appearance with her own darling wreath of flowers!
Kate + Andrew's wedding was such a lovely day including a sweet treat from Carpe Donut later that night! Family and friends showered them with love and you could feel it radiating from everyone. I am still in love with Kate's stunning bouquet by Southern Blooms. Enjoy this festive wedding as my last post of 2013! I look forward to what 2014 will bring!

Bea + Jeff's July wedding celebration was a beautiful, family oriented affair. There were so many lovely family heirlooms from the lovely arrangement of photos of their parents and grandparents, to the gorgeous necklace that Bea wore that day. I loved the soft flow of her gown, the cathedral length veil and her delicate color palette. The groomsmen were dapper in navy suits with pops of yellow in their boutonnieres. It was a full filled day full of love and laughter as we dodged the rain.

I just adore The Pretty Blog. When I submitted my second wedding of the year to them I had my finger and toes crossed that they would love it just as much as I did. I am absolutely thrilled to have Sarah + Alex's classic spring wedding featured there! If you haven't visited The Pretty Blog yet, now is your chance to fall in love like I did. It's not only a beautiful wedding blog, but it goes beyond that. It truly is a blog that embodies LOVE | LIVE | EAT.
When Jamie told me that she had found a graffiti wall with kissing robots I knew their engagement session was going to be so much fun! I loved the colors that they picked, the locations they took me to and the awesome props Jamie made! This session was so easy and full of love and positive energy. I can't believe I have to wait until next October to hang out with these two again!
It's not everyday that someone becomes a citizen. This is something very close to me because my father is originally from Germany, so when a dear friend asked me to photograph his partners naturalization ceremony, I was thrilled! Javier is from Argentina and now is also a citizen of the United States of America! It was such a beautiful ceremony with so many faces in the crowd. Thank you Javier and Nicky, it was an honor to be the photographer to capture this day!
